I am a part-time/freelance Finance Director, so basically I do anything that a Finance Director does, but I work for small and medium sized businesses who do not need, or cannot afford, a full time resource.

A bit about me...

The types of tasks I carry out are hugely varied but can include: monthly management accounts, budgeting and cashflow management and forecasting, process or system improvement, managing the team and stakeholder relationships, business prepping for a sale or investment, sitting as a non-exec, and many other ad-hoc duties.

Generally I work with businesses anything from half a day per month to one day per week, dependent on their budget, size and needs.  Turnover tends to range from £0.5m - £10m.

Really good introductions for me are firms of accountants and banks, who tend to come across businesses with a need for my services – a good example would be a business that is growing and they have a bookkeeper in place but need a little more – I would assess the needs, working alongside the bookkeeper.
