Six (oops - *seven*) months of 2025

Well, what a whirlwind the first half of 2025 has been for team Pink Spaghetti Weston. It feels like we’ve blinked and it’s already the end of July! (As you might expect, I meant to post this nearer to the beginning of July!)

So much has happened in such a short space of time that I thought I should take a moment and get it all down on some digital paper.

We kicked off the year with a bit of a bang and some celebrations as, to my total surprise, I picked up the Leadership Award at the Pink Spaghetti Conference after being nominated by my team members.

I came into the world of small business without much in the way of leadership experience, and it's sometimes very easy to doubt yourself and question if you are getting it right. But if they felt that I have done a good enough job to nominate me for an award, then that means the world to me!

And as if that wasn’t enough to celebrate, it was also the fifth anniversary of Pink Spaghetti Weston as a business.

I honestly cannot believe that more than five years have passed already. The world of business felt very uncertain when I started back in 2020, and of course there have been many obstacles to overcome along the way, but I am extremely proud to have built the business and the team to the stage we are now.

Talking of the rest of the team, there've been a few personal highlights for us this year. Our lovely Technical Administrator, Maria, celebrated turning 40 and fabulous this year and myself and another member have celebrated with our teenagers the fact that they have completed their GCSE exams. We’re sure there will be more celebrations come results day too.

Half of the team managed to actually get together in person for the first time ever this year too. Myself, Katie and Cherry met up for our first (and our second one recently took place too) face-to-face marketing meeting.

The work-from-home life has so many benefits, but it’s always nice to actually speak to real people sometimes. It’s great to be able to bounce ideas off of one another too, instead of having to rely on two cats when I’m at home, who surprisingly don’t have many ideas when it comes to marketing.

Talking of meeting real human beings, I’ve enjoyed getting together with some of my fellow franchisees this year, as well as meeting lots of new and familiar faces at various networking events - I have attended 25 events so far this year and they’ve all been hugely beneficial! I also accompanied a client to a trade show in order to support them with their marketing and networking, while also learning a bit more about their industry.

So far this year we’ve onboarded 10 new clients, and we've saved our clients more than 1,300 hours in total by taking various work off their hands. Some of our favourite tasks this year have been:

• Holding social media strategy sessions to give our clients’ marketing more direction
• Deleting 1000s of junk emails from a client’s inbox (no really - it’s very cleansing )
• Getting a client in the local press 11 times
• Writing award nominations for clients, to really help them stand out
• Assisting with designing a client’s website.

The variety of different tasks we handle means that there’s not really two days that are the same. We’ve been tasked with doing all sorts - no task is too weird or wonderful for Pink Spaghetti Weston-super-Mare!

Writing this half-year round-up has shown me just how much I and the rest of team Pink Spaghetti Weston have achieved so far and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds.
