A bit about me...
Hi, I’m Paul Claireaux.
I create consumer-facing educational content for various types of financial service firms – including advisers and planners who want to become (or remain) a go-to place for answers to vital money questions.
I studied engineering and maths at university, then spent 40 years across 3 successful careers in financial services. First working with IFAs (as a broker consultant), then leading product developments, and finally as an adviser to clients of a private bank. I hold advanced qualifications in Pensions and Tax & Trusts.
For the past 15 years, I've focused entirely on financial education. Every piece of content I create is built to pass my ABC test of being Accurate, Balanced, and Compelling.
And, in my view, most financial content is not "Compelling"; it's deadly dull.
I am fortunate to have one of the UK's leading financial planners to check all my Money Insights – and a Doctor of Psychology to check those which cover human behavioural topics.
Through my clients (which include Salary Finance, Money Alive and Fidelity Adviser Solutions), my Money Insights have now reached c. 5 million people across the UK.
I offer three connected services:
SCAN: An independent review of your existing content to show what's working, what isn't, and why.
PLAN: A 20-point roadmap for building or upgrading your content library, so you know what to create, for whom, and in what order.
ACT: Where I supply best-in-class (custom-made or ready-made) consumer-facing Insights.
I've also written a book, 'Who can you trust about money?' on the many "enemies" (outside and inside our heads) to good financial planning – which was praised by FT journalist Moira O'Neill as "one of the best written and most engaging books of its kind."
