Nobody can see their own story clearly from the inside

OK - I'm going all official, so you have everything you need to know about me here on record, cue drumroll...

Why I am here:
I'm Dominic from Pericline Narrative Consulting and Coaching. I built a successful career in factual television, making documentaries for the BBC, Sky and National Geographic. It taught me something very important: none of us can see our own story clearly from the inside. It's not about talent — we're just too close to it. That's true whether it's a person, a team, or a whole organisation.

What I do:
I use my documentary skills for this: questioning, listening, storytelling. I dig deep to find the real story for a team or organisation. That comes before branding and marketing get involved, so whatever's built next has something original and authentic to say.

Coaching turns the same principle on one person instead of an organisation. I don't advise. I hold up a mirror, so you can see your own next step as clearly as I'd help a business see its story.

How I do it:
I dig for gold, rigorously and vigorously. I look below the surface, below the obvious, for the real stories that matter.

For consultancy, that means talking to senior management and running a workshop open to anyone. Then following up with interviews, across the organisation and outside it too, drawing the threads together to show what really matters.

Who I'd like to work with:
Businesses going through a big change: a merger, a succession, a founder stepping back, a loss of identity or direction, or someone who can't see their own next move.
